NORTH COMMUNITIES The communities north of Seattle offer beautiful
homes, friendly neighborhoods, varied work opportunities, and a way of life unique
to smaller cities.
Bothell (Northshore Chamber of Commerce) Located northeast of Lake Washington, Bothell is a
mix of wooded hillsides, quiet residential neighborhoods and growing commercial
districts. Residents enjoy the convenience of nearby businesses, retail centers and
employment opportunities.
Edmonds (Edmonds Chamber of Commerce) Edmonds is located approximately 15 miles north of
Seattle on the shores of Puget Sound. Hanging flower baskets, waterfront parks,
public art, fishing pier and summer market adorn this picturesque community. The
Washington State Ferry Terminal handles daily service to Kingston.
Everett Located 25 miles north of Seattle, Everett is home
to the Naval Station Everett and the Boeing Company. The Port of Everett links the
community to international shipping from around the world. In Everett, you'll find
the West Coast's second largest marina, a revitalized downtown, vibrant
neighborhoods, 32 parks and trails and two public golf courses.
Kenmore Located just south of Bothell, Kenmore consists of long-established,
predominately single-family neighborhoods with some condominiums and apartments mixed in. The city
maintains several parks along the shores of Lake Washington.
Lynnwood (South Snohomish County Chamber of
Commerce) With more than 3,000 licensed businesses and no B&O
or utility taxes, Lynnwood is the business and commercial center of South Snohomish
County. The city, however, is also a community of homes, parks and recreational
opportunities, with 237 acres of parks and open spaces.
Lake Forest
Park Lake Forest Park is primarily a single-family residential community
with numerous small neighborhood parks. More than half of all registered businesses here are home
based.
Lake
Stevens (Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce) Many residents of this quiet town commute to jobs in nearby Everett,
Bothell and Bellevue. Recreation centers around the lake, the cityÕs namesake and largest in
Snohomish
County.
Marysville Marysville's strategic location, abundant land,
modern infrastructure and unhurried lifestyle provide an ideal environment to raise
a family and operate a successful business. With lakes, rivers, wooded countryside,
alpine hiking trails, boating and golfing only minutes away, Marysville offers
residents a variety of recreational activities.
Mill
Creek Mill Creek, which began in 1976 as one of
Washington's first planned communities, was incorporated as a city in September
1983. Mill Creek is known for its lovely homes and condominiums.
Monroe
(Monroe Chamber of Commerce) The city of Monroe is located approximately 40 miles
northeast of Seattle and 15 miles southeast of Everett. Monroe has a small-town
friendliness and sense of community. Monroe boasts an extensive park system.
Mountlake
Terrace Mountlake Terrace offers relaxed suburban living,
with 262 acres of parks, playgrounds and recreational attractions, including nine-
and 18-hole golf courses and an Olympic-sized ice-skating rink.
Mukilteo Mukilteo - the Indian name means "good camping
ground" - is located on Puget Sound immediately south of Everett. Mukilteo provides
all the charm of a waterfront community within easy commuting distances of larger
cities.
Shoreline (Shoreline Chamber of
Commerce) Shoreline is home to a diverse population
contrasting exclusive, wealthy waterfront living with moderately priced housing.
Shoreline has a historical museum, two libraries, a popular senior center, an arts
council, youth sports teams and several service clubs.
Snohomish (Snohomish Chamber of
Commerce) The city of Snohomish, founded in 1859 on the banks
of the Snohomish River, offers country living with charm and hospitality. Snohomish
has commercial and nationally registered historic-home districts. Two museums, the
Blackman House and Old Snohomish Village, keep the past alive for residents and
visitors.
